In The News:

  • It’s flu season. Pease take some precautions. Cover your mouth with your sleeve or a tissue when you cough or sneeze. Make sure you take your tissues/ napkins when you move. Wash your hands often. Don’t put your cards up to your face. Stay home if you are sick. Get the flu shot if possible, it’s not too late.

  • All games in February are  Education Foundation games except any Unit  games. These games pay 63.6% of Sectional Masterpoint awards at no added cost!

  • The next Sat Eve “Good Time Game” is Feb. 15th and is an ACBL Educational Foundation game.

  • Alert! Special announcement about the Tues afternoon game. Play in 2 games, get one free! Anyone playing in the 2:30 game on February 11 and 18 will be entitled to play in the February 25 game for free. Likewise, play at 2:30 on March 3 and 10 and play for free on March 17.
  • Do you have your four-to-six-person team lined up for the Grand National Team competition? The District Final will be held at MVBC on April 18 and 19. The top team (or in some cases, the top two teams) will qualify to represent our District at the Summer NABC in Montreal, with some monetary compensation to help defray expenses! Flight C is just for non-Life Masters with less than 500 points (as of ACBL’s September 2019 masterpoint cycle).
    There will be two “practice” GNT events at MVBC, on Sunday March 8 and Sunday April 5. For both events, the club will provide Danish, fruit and virgin Saratoga Sunrise punch at 12:45. Game time will be at 1:30. You may participate in either or both practice games. For the practice events, your team must be just four people, but it can be any four, not necessarily the team you’re bringing on April 18.

We will be utilizing the new ACBL Live at Clubs procedure for all our games starting now. If you play in a game at our club, you should receive an email link.

  • MVBA Bridge Library  Several donated books were added 5/15/19 . The books have been alphabetized by author. Please help keep them this way. All have been stamped ” MVBA” and have pockets with cards in the back. See the Director for check out and return. The MVBA Board has committed to buy $300 worth of books per year. The right side of the bookcase has a “Reference” shelf and 2 “Historical Books” shelves; these are for perusing only and cannot be checked out.
